Purchased a couple of hoods from Fibe Industries, I couldn't pass them up he gave me a great deal.
So back to the Original Sled I started to build, now I have to make them fit.

I'm going to go with the new Ski-Doo style hood should look good if I can get it to fit.

Well back at it! It's been a very busy summer. Tore the old sled down. I will be saving the ski spindles and steering arms but the rest of the front end is junk. If you purchase the aluminum ice racing skis you will have to cut or grind the spindles down to fit, it beats spending over $100.00 each for new ones.
I took a picture of the slide suspension. The Wahl kit to lower the suspension uses this style, my other sled (the one I'm using off my other 89 is much lighter and looks different, not sure why? ) If you use the suspension I have the welds will be placed at different spots.
Here are some pictures of the suspension I will be using the Wahl kit has been installed and the lubers plumbed.
I used brake line tubing cut and held in place by metal wire clips you can purchase all these items from Napa or any automotive parts supplier, I used stainless steel bolts and lock nuts to secure them, I will be using a fuel pump that will be powered by a second pulse line which I added to the engine case to power the lube system.
I no I have the power, here is a picture of my Brunner 2 stage 3.5hp , 80 gallon tank max 175 psi so pressures not the issue. Any idea's....
This is the engine after blasting a little cleaner but not what I was hoping for. I guess its glass bead next.

I thought I would try to media blast the engine, I covered all the openings with duct tape and plastic plugs and caps. Hope it works....lol
I purchased a pressure media blaster I thought I would give Soda Blasting a try. I purchased a large bag of Sodium Bicarb and blasted the engine it didn't produce the look I was hoping for not sure if I was doing something wrong. U Tube show many guys blasting with Soda with great results.I no I have the power, here is a picture of my Brunner 2 stage 3.5hp , 80 gallon tank max 175 psi so pressures not the issue. As the Machine Sit Today!
All the F500 machine I looked at on the net where highly modified with modern hoods lighter materials and they all looked great!! I decided to go that route. Here is a picture of my machine as it sits today still in the build stage after thousands spent (still no racing under my belt)
I decided at this point that goal was to race being competitive will come later I changed my mind set at went back to the basics. I kept an eye out for Indy 500 rolling chassis and one came up on the buy and sells. It was an 1990 model. I picked it up for $200.00 the motor was blown but the clutches where all there and the hood and belly pan where in great shape. I plan on taking all the race items off the 89 and installing them on the 90. Remember don't fall into the trap I did and spend all your time and money building, get out there and race the rest will come. This is where I will start the transformation of the 90 into my race sled.
